This workshop brings together nature and pen and paper, working with the beautiful organic shapes and shadows of fresh, local flowers to create marks on a page. Let the forms found in nature guide the flow of your pen.

What is covered

  • Introduction and discussion about drawing from nature

  • Exploring fresh, local flowers and the shadows they cast

  • Samples to gain inspiration from

  • Hands-on practice translating natural shapes, symbols, and forms into your own marks on the page, at your own pace

10am - 1:00pm (3hrs) • $60

This workshop is for anyone curious about weaving, whether you've dabbled before or never touched a loom. Either way, it's been created to explore the beautiful art of weaving at any level, surrounded by others in the community who share that same curiosity.

What is covered

  • Hands-on practice setting up and weaving on a frame loom, creating your own design at your own pace

  • Samples to gain inspiration from

  • Introduction to different weaving techniques

What's included

  • Yarn and fibres to work with, you’re welcome to bring any with you from home too

  • All tools and supplies needed to create your own woven piece

  • Tea/coffee and snacks

  • A warm, inviting space and relaxed environment

  • Guidance and assistance from Sara (sita studio)

All you need is your curiosity and a willingness to learn. If you catch the weaving bug and want to keep going at home, looms will be available to purchase at the end for the wholesale price of $30
